The Advocates’ life-changing Programs and Services are focused in three core areas of impact:

Prevent & Educate »
The Advocates educates students from kindergarten thru the 12th grade by going into the classroom and talking candidly about bullying, and domestic violence. The Advocates to teach respect through knowledgeable and engaging elementary, middle school and high school classroom activities and discussions; and to help increase community-wide awareness through activities and events. Prevention through education is a key component of ending domestic and sexual violence.
  • Literally, hours after a presentation to a fourth grade class this year, a boy brought his mom to The Advocates’ protective shelter.
  • Over 3,000 students and community members were educated about healthy relationships.
  • A bully was removed from a school bus this fall due to The Advocates’ work and a boy on the verge of bullying others told his mother that The Advocates’ bullying presentation “changed” his life.

Shelter & Heal »
The Advocates is here to shelter and heal victims of domestic and sexual violence and help victims become survivors -- 1 in 4 women will be victims of domestic violence, and children are likely to be physically assaulted in 86% of homes with partner violence.
  • Clients who received case management, accomplished 88% of their goals.

Transition & Support »
The Advocates work victims to become survivors and for survivors to build safe lives -- domestic violence is the #1 cause of homelessness for women, children and teens.
  • 70% of The Advocates’-sheltered women successfully transitioned to safe, abuse free living situations.
